The Kincardine Nimrod Club is hosting a CSSA RSO course on May 6, 2023. The course description below is directly from the CSSA website. This course is recognized as a CSSA course and upon successful completion your next CSSA membership card should show this qualification on it. More details to come.

This course is limited to 10 people. The classroom component will be done in the Clubhouse, the live fire component will be done at the 25 Yard range, with the indoor range as a backup if the weather is particularly nasty.

This is a one day course designed to train candidates to conduct a safe and informal firing line for the local gun club. It is a generic program for use with sport shooters who are not in a specific discipline.

It is not intended to replace any current safe practices but to enhance and refresh all current and future Range Safety Officers and Line Safety Officers in their duties and responsibilities at the local level.

The purpose is to ensure all Range Officers are trained to the same standard, making for an improved shooting experience for our membership.

Requirements

• PAL
• CSSA membership number
• Qualified for independent range usage at KNC
• Minimum of 2 years shooting experience
• Hearing and eye protection
• Firearm for the live fire component, a .22 LR is preferred either rifle or handgun
• Ammunition (50-100 rounds is likely sufficient)
• Lunch if you choose
